点评:Very meh. Tiny house that looks like a container. You can go into the nondescript cellar (nothing to see) on narrow stairs and up to the flat roof (no stepping on it) on equally narrow stairs. The flat roof was so revolutionary and reviled in the 1920s that the municipality forbade future building with flat roofs in the vicinity of Vevey.
Other than that, the office, bathroom and bedroom where Le Corbusier’s mother and elder brother lived (after death of Le Corbusier’s father) blend into one.
You can see it all in 5-10 minutes. 12 CHF is pricey for what you see but I guess the maintenance costs add up. Parking is along the sidewalk and main road going into Vevey.
The caretakers are friendly but it gets busy with French tourists so they have little time to answer questions. (Le Corbusier took French nationality so that he could be named architect of French public building projects and to this day the Le Corbusier Foundation is based in Paris).
The views of the lake is spectacular.
I was scratching my head that this was a UNESCO Heritage site.
Far better to sign up for a tour of the Nestle HQ down the road. The tours are free and offered from time to time by the Vevey Tourism Office on weekends. Mr. P. Moser who gives the fascinating tours also takes care of Corbusier’s Villa Lac. If you can hear him talk about the Villa I’m sure you will have a great visit too.
