点评:Not the most visually dramatic site in a park full of dramatic scenery - but worth the stop to see the pupfish that survive here.
I had wondered if it would be hard to spot the pupfish, especially at mid-day when we stopped here. But they were all over the place in the creek - and very easy to spot.
Pupfish are very small - minnow size. Normally, looking at minnow-sized fish isn't that thrilling for me. But there is something fun about seeing a fish that can survive in the harsh climate of Death Valley. The males can be colorful, and we enjoyed watching one male pupfish defend his territory - chasing away all intruders in a crowded section of the creek.
Our tour book said the hike was 0.8 miles - but walking the full boardwalk loop felt longer than that. It's flat and easy walking on a boardwalk. The terrain doesn't vary that much. If you only have a short time and/or don't feel like hiking the entire boardwalk, I think one can get 80% of the value from the first 10-20% of the walk.
