Heart of Ohio Antique Center的点评
点评：We’ve been going to this place for several years now, and we’ve seen a steady increase in prices from just about every vendor. Sure, it’s big; sure, it’s organized (for the most part)…but I’m not about to be ripped off. And don’t hand me the old, “everything’s more expensive these days” malarkey; this is greed, pure and simple.
I collect ocean liner-related items. I’ve been at this for nearly 40 years and have amassed over 20,000 pieces; I know what the stuff is worth and what it typically goes for. Yesterday, while walking around this place, I found a LUSITANIA/MAURETANIA agency print. These typically go for between $500-1200 (the condition of the one they have puts it in the $750-800 range). But no, these guys are asking $2350! I also found a souvenir pin dish that should be around $5, but the vendor is asking $35. It's nothin more than monumental price gouging. I found at least four other things, but all of them were ridiculously over the top, pricewise.
To top it off, the main lobby is the only area in the entire place where the AC works well; except for only one wing, we nearly melted walking through the place from how hot it was.
We both agreed that the entire experience was more frustrating than fun. Greedy pricing and sweltering temps made for a very unpleasant outing. While the other antique mall one exit away isn’t as well organized, the prices are more reasonable, and the AC worked like a charm.
