点评：We took a walk from Southport to the Botanic Gardens. The Gardens themselves were quite lovely, however, there were areas which looked uncared for. There is an avery with beautiful birds which are in cages much too small for them, which I found incredibly sad. There is a lake with a fountain. The best part for me was the fern house, lots of lovely ferns in a tropical glass house. The cafe had absolutely no vegan food and the toilets arnt free. They were outside of the cafe and cost 20p to get in, whilst this isn't expensive if food is served I believe that the toilets should be free. I understand that the fee goes towards the bowling green, but I dont feel its acceptable to charge when they are serving food. Staff were lovely and the cafe is quirky, very old feel to it. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is free on the road outside and the bus stop to get back to Soutport is also outside. The Botanic Gardens are free to enter. Easy to get round with prams, walkers or wheelchairs.
