Assembly Hall Theatre的点评
点评：I visited the assembly hall this evening to watch a George Michael tribute. As part of a group we have visited and watched many, many shows there and all have been an enjoyable evening. However tonight things were not the same. As soon as anyone dared to stand up to dance they were pounced on by two big security guards demanding you sit down . Obviously when you go to watch a show there are songs you can happily watch seated and there are songs that have you up on your feet ! Other shows this has not been an issue and everyone was allowed to enjoy themselves. But tonight everyone was watched like a hawk by these security men. The few stiffs who didn’t have a rhythmic bone in their bodies kept kicking up
Such a fuss and getting security on people , they spoilt the atmosphere completely. But the worst part of the night was security actually calling the police on a couple of men who were there with their partners , for repeatedly trying to find a place to dance. We were all made to dance against the walls which became very crowded. So people were trying to dance in other rows. To call the police on people for dancing is ridiculous. If you are going to put on a music tribute show you must expect to let people dance ! Or have sections of seating where people who want to dance can sit. Make the people who want to sit there all night like a stiff sit in the tiered seats. Put a note on the booking page that in the section in front of the stage be prepared for people dancing. It’s a music night !
