点评:Look, I dislike exposed heights, but I decided to challenge myself and do Crimson Trail anyway. So glad I did! We started from Spring Hollow (it’s slightly less steep than the Guinavah-Malibu side, but trust me, it’s steep enough), looped down the other way and followed the river back. The trail finally flattens out on top, where the cliff treats you to the most spectacular views! I could see west into the valley, and across to the wind caves- so beautiful in the fall! There are mixed shaded/exposed areas on this trail, and though it’s not wide on top, it’s not terrible, either- I generally felt pretty safe, though I personally wouldn’t bring small kids on this trail because they aren’t always mindful of their surroundings. There was just one small sketchy section where I had a minor freakout, because it looked like the trail had eroded a bit and was very narrow and slanty, but I was able to hop over it with a few awkward steps and some swears. It took us 2 fairly fit middle agers and our dog maybe a few hours round trip. I’d say this is a challenging hike mostly just because of the steep ascent and descent, but if you pace yourself and persevere, you will get a great workout and be rewarded with amazing views.
