Hidden Gem with History, Heart, and Incredible Shine!
Short Mountain Distillery的点评
点评:We took a little detour before heading into Nashville and are so glad we did! Not only did we get to meet Barley and Rye (the resident distillery cats—total sweethearts!), but we also had an amazing experience at this small batch distillery. Everything is crafted in-house from a 250-gallon still, and the attention to detail and passion truly show in every sip.
The real treat? Learning the history behind their Sugar Shine, which uses the same recipe James Cooper Melton used during Prohibition—yes, the same shine he sold to Al Capone! That kind of history is rare and makes the visit feel extra special.
Cameron, the master distiller himself, led our tour—even though he’s usually off on Sundays—which made the experience feel personal and authentic. His knowledge and passion were evident and made the tour unforgettable.
We also had lunch at the Shaken Glass Restaurant (under new ownership and not affiliated with the distillery). The food was fantastic—highly recommend stopping in for a bite while you’re there!
Highly recommend this stop—whether you’re a history buff, a spirits enthusiast, or just looking for something off the beaten path. This place is a must!
