点评:I've visited the National Museum of Archeology, Anthropology and History of Peru (NMAAHP) dozens of times in the last 12 months. And each time I've learnt something new. It's not for naught that this is Lima's best museum.
Located right off Plaza Bolívar in Pueblo Libre, this museum is a treasure trove of Peruvian heritage. It houses an extensive collection spanning all the cultures that have inhabited Peru, from pre-Columbian times to the present day. It's Peru's oldest museum and was established in 1821.
Highlights include artifacts from the Chavín, Paracas, and Inca civilizations, as well as colonial-era paintings. Plus, the house next to the museum also has historical significance, having hosted both Simón Bolívar and José de San Martín during their time in Lima.
Allow at least two hours to explore its fascinating exhibits.
