点评：Yes, it’s a lively thoroughfare and festooned with several large shopping malls, a lot of which specialise on label and top end brands. But nothing you can’t see in any other capital city in the world and once you are inside one, nothing much to tell you that you are actually in Singapore.
However where Orchard Road scores is that the posh malls are interspersed with more affordable shopping options and local food out let places that actually give it a bit of local character. And for those who may not be that interested in shopping, there are a couple of real diamonds hidden a short walking distance from the maid drag of Orchard Road, namely the historic and architectural Emerald Hill and Cuppage Terrace with its vibrant collection of bars and restaurants, best visited in the evening, and its worth making your way out to Orchard Road just for these.
And it is fairly easy to get here as the road is serviced by the Orchard or Somerset MRT stations as well as several local bus routes that run its length.
