点评:I think we walked through the palace everyday of our visit to Split. Initially the old town felt like a maze of tiny streets but eventually there were key landmarks to navigate by. The main square of the palace with the cathedral, bell tower and columns was one of these.
It was always rammed with tourists, but this was also charming. You can simply sit on the stone steps and watch everyone, including the 'gladiators' taking photos for tips. But don't borrow any of the Lvxor's cushions as they are in a set area and designed for their customers.
We enjoyed eating gelato in the square and got to listen to live music both day and night.
I'm sure we would have learnt more of the history with a guided tour, but we did read the info panels at the gates and did a combined ticket for the tower, cathedral and treasury. However simply enjoyed each wander as always seemed to find new little areas to view.
