点评：While Alvor Beach is undoubtedly one of the finest in the Algarve, I would like to share one less positive aspect regarding the sunbed concession near Restinga. I have been visiting this beach for over 20 years and, unfortunately, I have never experienced much friendliness from the gentleman responsible for this area. His attitude can sometimes give the impression that he regards himself as “the owner of the beach,” perhaps due to the many years he has held the concession.
On 23/08/2025, with the tide coming in, beachgoers were naturally obliged to move closer to the sunbeds, most of which remained empty. Even in this situation, the concessionaire requested that the lifeguard ask people to leave the area — which seemed an inappropriate demand, as the lifeguard’s essential duty is, of course, to safeguard lives in the water. This created some unnecessary tension, which was regrettable.
That said, it is important to emphasise that Alvor Beach remains a truly exceptional destination. The beach offers an extensive stretch of golden sand, ideal for long walks and for finding space even on busy summer days. The sea is another highlight, with water temperatures that, depending on the tide, can be surprisingly warm and pleasant. The natural beauty and atmosphere of Alvor make it a place I continue to return to year after year.
In conclusion, if the management of the sunbed concession near Restinga were handled in a more welcoming and considerate manner, the overall experience at this magnificent beach would be close to perfect.
