点评:I had been to this market 20 years ago and it was a great but tourist trap experience. My daughter now wanted to visit, so we had it on our list of Things To Do.. so when we met a driver outside at Wat Pho advertising a trip to the Market we decided to go with his good transport rate. He drove us to there and back (total 3.5hrs in heavy traffic on return).
Upon arrival, we were taken to supposed formal entrance to purchase tickets. We paid THB 6,000 for a 2-hour trip which included the Floating Market and stop at the Buddha in the Banyan Tree (only).
Beware though that the Market was closed altogether (a Friday) and other stalls existed along the canal ways to rip you off. I also agree with one of the other reviewers that the entire setup is unhygienic and water ways are polluted. It is clear that the driver and the boat chaps the kingpin collecting the 'entry fee' are all in it together. The driver told us we have to get there as the Market closes at 5pm..... there was no Market!
As per other reviewers, this is a major SCAM.. please save yourselves and dont fall for this waste of time and money!
The Thai Tourism Board needs to intervene as it is giving the whole industry and country as a Tourist destination, a bad rep.
