点评:I was quite lucky with the timing of my visit as the sky literally opened up and began pouring rain down as soon as I arrived at the ticket booth.
There were three ticket options and in hindsight I only needed the basic admission for 40k VND since there wasn’t much to see on the grounds and there wasn’t any special exhibitions.
Luckily staff took all visitors on the electric cart from the gate to the back of the Independence Palace to avoid walking under the downpour.
The first floor was closed off for some type of natural products fair but no one was stopping visitors from crossing into the fair. Other than that all floors were accessible and every room open for visitors. Every room or area was well signed and furnished/decorated to represent the setting during the last South Vietnam government.
The rooftop contained a small cafe and overlooked the helicopter landing pad where one could see the locations where the bombs were dropped on the palace by a defecting pilot.
Overall spent one hour here and glad to see how preserved the palace was.
