点评:We chose not to stop off at the nearby motorway services but to seek somewhere a little less crowded instead. What a fine decision that turned out to be. We stumbled upon a sign pointing towards a tearoom through a stone gateway. After a mile or so down a narrow track, we came to an impressive stately home with a chapel and a tearoom on the side.
The scones had only just come out of the oven. How could we resist? The tea came in a most unusual teapot which was in keeping with the Royal Worcester crockery and the tearoom in general. Wooden panels, stained glass windows and an amazing fire surround which I wish I had photographed.
This tearoom is a million miles from the service area on the M6, but only a short hop as the crow flies. We left very impressed, refreshed, and not greatly out of pocket. What a find!
