点评:Two adults visited the Genesee Country Village & Museum on a Wednesday in mid-August and were mostly impressed with the experience. There is more here than can be seen in one day. Many of the buildings are either open with docents present or for self-tours. The docents really make the experience special and every one we talked with was very knowledgeable, especially the cooper—he was absolutely the best! There is food available at the site and a slow tram that circles periodically. Plenty of free parking is available but note it is a long walk from the entrance to the actual country village either past the restaurant or the exhibit gallery buildings. One criticism we had was that the entry person didn’t tell us about the list of docent-occupied buildings that was posted near the entrance so we were hit or miss for a while until we figured it out. Also, the paper map they supply does not have enough detail to always identify which buildings are open. The facility also runs a summer camp simultaneously that seems to be quite successful with the kids mostly in 1850s style clothes as they go around for various activities. Evidently they also do something similar during the school year.
