点评：On our way back to Portugal, as we are crazy for cars and other pieces, we could no do anything els than make a stop-over to visit the museum of Maurice Du Fresne, who is contains over 3000 pieces. Here is what he got in his mind:
As person he was convinced of the importance to preserve those pieces which are discarded and replaced by a more technically advanced version, Maurice Dufresne decided to put his patiently gathered, preserved and restored treasures in the former paper mill Moulin de Marnay, in Azay-le-Rideau, in the heart of the Val-de-L’Indre. For him it is quite clear: this site will be the perfect setting to shelter his precious collection, like a refuge for old machines!
It’s the 24th of October from the year 1992 when the museum joyfully and officially opens its doors to the public. Ever since, thousands of animated visitors come every year and bring the collection to life: inquisitives, amateurs, collectors, nostalgic people, children or “grown-up children”, families, automobile clubs, tourists on a random visit and so many others. It is because of these people, and because of you who are reading this, that the museum continues to exist and is able to pursue the dream, a bit megalomaniac may be, of Maurice Dufresne, who dreamed the whole of his life of a place that is dedicated to the safekeeping of our common heritage. The museum was rewarded several times among which with but also and above all by 30 guest books filled with praises of visitors from all over the world.
