点评：What a stunning place! Spectacular scenery. We drove from Lourdes (about 1 hour) up the windy road. We arrived about 10am and had no trouble finding a park but when we came out it was very full (costs 8 euros. You buy a ticket from the machine then put in your car on the dashboard, no barriers or booths).
There could be better maps showing the walks. If you walk straight through the village you go the easy way on a slowly inclining wide path for about 3kms (only occasionally shaded). The last part is a little harder (around 1km) on a rough inclined 4wheel drive type track. Around 4kms in total, 8kms return.
If you go up the track to the right of the village (beside the higher road) you walk a rougher trail through the trees (one small rocky steep part) upwards then along the valley contour and are rewarded with a spot that has the best stunning views and fewer people. You can then walk down and go left to join the main track.
There are public toilets in the village at the beginning and several tourist shops and cafes. Another hotel/cafe is about 1km further than the final hotel is at the end (4kms) in the cirque itself.
We went on a Sunday and there were a lot of people as we returned about 1pm but it is still worth it. As we went earlier in the morning we had to wait until the cloud cleared to see everything when it fully cleared about midday.
