点评:We visited Saint John in part to see this historic old market. This is a colorful market in a historic building. We were here on a slow day. It was nice, but we spent less than half an hour here. I'm guessing that it is much busier when a cruise ship is in port.
St. John is now improving its waterfront area, about 3 blocks away. We'd recommend going down there, particularly around Prince William Street. Sadly, the area immediately around the market and down Germain Street isn't yet as nice. You should also find the red walkway around the waterfront. The redevelopment is still in its early stages, but the docks are interesting and it is a very nice walk.
There is parking all around, but make sure you pay the electronic meters. It costs something like $2 per hour, but they do patrol and ticket. Street parking is free after 6:00 (although the market is closed).
This isn't a great attraction, but it's worth a visit if you find yourself in St. John.
