点评:Vyšehrad Park is off the beaten path allowing for a nice break to get away from the tourist crowd. There are as many locals as visitors here. Vyšehrad is very meaningful to the Czech nation as it is the legendary location of first settlement in the city that later became Prague. A fortress was constructed here in the 10th century although little remains from that time except for the Romanesque Rotunda of St Martin from the 11th century. The Habsburgs built a military installation here and the Tabor Gate and Leopold gate along the with the city walls can still be seen. However, the park offers photogenic views of the Vltava River and is also the site of the Neo-Gothic Basilica of St Peter and St Paul built between 1887-1903 and the adjacent Vyšehrad Cemetary, which is the National Cemetery and is the final resting place of many famous Czechs. Vyšehrad can be reached by taking the subway here and you can return by tram along the Vltava River after descending the stairs to the Vyton neighborhood. I enjoyed coming here but it is not a must-see sight but certainly a worthwhile activity if you have an extra day and have a couple hours to spare.
