At the literal and spiritual heart of the estate lies the Centennial Cellar, home to what is widely recognized as the longest unbroken line of single-vintage fortified wines in the world. Initiated in 1878 by Oscar Benno Seppelt, who decreed that a barrel of the finest Tawny from every harvest be matured for a full century before release, this living museum holds consecutive vintages stretching all the way back to its inception. It remains the only winery on Earth to release a 100-year-old single vintage wine annually, offering an unparalleled, highly coveted cellar door experience where guests can taste a fine Tawny poured directly from a barrel matching their own birth year.
