点评：This was a one-of-a-kind experience that I would highly recommend. We took a suburban train from central Melbourne (about an hour's journey) and arrived in enough time to get coffee and have a look around. The trip up to Lakeside is enjoyable with lovely scenery and the unique opportunity to dangle your feet over the edge of the carriage. At Lakeside itself they have a flash new visitors' centre with a good, well-organised cafe and modern facilities and you can also walk around the lake and do some short bush walks in the nearby area. We sat on the opposite side of the train going back and so got a completely different view. All up, it was a fun trip. Bear in mind that it is quite a long day (from Flinders Street Station, there and back, was 9:00 - 4:00 approx) and the carriages on the train are all open so definitely rug up if you're going in the off-season. I'd also recommend booking in advance too as the train was packed.
