Tapiche Jungle Reserve的点评
点评：I had a great time at the Tapiche lodge! I chose this lodge specifically for the conservation efforts and the remoteness.
The journey there and back is long, but well orchestrated. Basic meals are provided and you can buy snacks along the way. The lodge itself is, as promised, quite rustic but provides all the necessities. Good mosquito netting, I didn't get bit once in my sleep!
The guide, Aidan, is a wealth of information on both flora and fauna, and happy to accommodate in your wishes to try to find specific animals. We saw river dolphins, caiman, about 5 or 6 species of monkey, a river otter, coral snake, many frogs, countless species of birds, jaguar and tapir tracks, and more. What you see is heavily dependent on luck and time of year, of course.
The other crew members were also very kind and accommodating. The cook was great and provided us with three tasty meals per day. They didn't speak much English (nor did I speak much Spanish), but they were friendly and good at pointing out hard to spot animals.
I definitely recommend this lodge if you're a bit adventurous and/or want more of a sciencey/expedition experience rather than a touristy one.
