点评：Visited this monument on the 29th of October 2026. The Elephant Stables are among the most impressive and best-preserved monuments of Hampi. They stand immediately beside the Zenana Enclosure and Lotus Mahal in the Royal Centre. What is remarkable about them?
* The building consists of 11 large chambers, arranged in a long, symmetrical row.
* The chambers have high arched entrances and lofty domes, giving the building an unusually grand appearance for an animal stable.
* The central chamber is larger and has a raised square structure above it.
* The different dome forms—circular, ribbed, octagonal and vaulted—show the Indo-Islamic architectural influence present in Vijayanagara architecture.
* They were traditionally identified as the place where the royal elephants of the Vijayanagara Empire were housed.
