点评：I couldn't highly recommend Viken more. I was quite nervous about the process but from the first conversation there is no obligation or feeling of pressure he was a gentleman to deal with from start to finish.
I really wanted to make sure i wrote this review incase anyone is doing research and just wants clarity your not mad just go for it best decision we made!!
The process started as i had tried on a ring in Ireland i loved so had a shape in mind i wanted but we tweaked it to be even more amazing. I reached out on Instagram first but then Viken gave me his number to reach out on WhatsApp.
I had decided i wanted the city break experience so we organized flights over but you can get it shipped or sometimes Viken is in Dublin so another potential option travel wise if looking to keep costs down. As i was hesitant at the beginning suited us more to go over but my plan is to get a wedding band organised in the future and i would happily get this shipped as its insured by Viken when shipping and the relationship is built now.
We had many conversations pre arriving on the design/ diamonds i wanted so had GIA certs to review pre arrival so you really know what stage your at before arriving in Antwerp. We had the ring part molded pre arrival and just inspected the stones and brought them to to be set. We checked the weight and matched certs to diamonds, we also received the hard copy GIA cert to bring home.
if you do make the plunge we flew Dublin to Brussels (very early flight) no issue carrying cash and in brussels airport unground there is a train service that brings you straight to Antwerp so you don't need to leave the airport - google maps says otherwise!! the train we got actually came from Amsterdam airport so another option to research incase flight times are better. Hearts and arrows is not even a 5 min walk from train station and Viken will meet you outside the building before going up. Also for coming home no issue bringing the ring back to Ireland i wore it going through security :)
We stayed for 2 nights so we weren't under time pressure but i think we spent maybe 2 hours in Antwerp once we arrived with Viken? i do think you could do it in a day if you wanted to just maybe flag to Viken if you are getting an evening flight home as we took our time on the day to take it all in.
Deposit wise have a chat with Viken there was no obligation at the beginning to give a deposit but because my design was smaller stones they needed to be paid upfront by hearts and arrows to there supplier so i did give a deposit to secure the diamonds as they matched the GIA specifications i was after and didn't want to loose those diamonds, he mentioned for larger stones they tend to get a payment term so it is very diamond specific and not the same per customer. Just don't be nervous if towards the end of the process this comes up as its driven by the supplier he is sourcing the diamond from and there business terms.
I hope this covers everything but i would do it 10 times over for the experience alone of watching the ring being set/polished and examining stones never mind the price saving of going to Antwerp.
