Amazing experience, especially if you've never seen 'tame' lightning!
SPARK Museum of Electrical Invention的点评
点评:For anyone who's ever been the least bit curious about electrical history, including such names as Tesla (the REAL one, as in Nikola, not Melon Husk), Franklin, Edison, Westinghouse, Marconi and Morse, this is a must-see stop. For anyone who's a ham radio operator or electronics hobbyist, I would say a visit here is mandatory. ;-)
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the exhibits are outstanding. You could spend a week's worth of days there and not catch everything there is to see. The exhibits trace the origin of electrical experimentation all the way back to the 1600's, including such things as Leyden Jars, Van de Graaf generators and the history of how we ended up using AC power to run the world.
The extra $5 for the 'lightning show' (usually at 14:30 Pacific) is well worth it, especially if you've never seen 'tame' lightning shooting off a huge Tesla coil. I don't want to drop too many spoilers but, if you do visit, ask about the 'Cage of Doom.'
Stay grounded!
