点评：Impressive fortification and earthworks that was built after 1681 and saved the city from Swedish conquest in 1718. Today you can wonder round and take in the view of the surroundings which are on full display. The fort sits on top of a large hill which dominates the city below with such landmarks like the Cathedral able to be seen. It's a short walk from the city, or a drive to the top making this attraction easily accessible.
Within the perimeter of the fort is the dungeon museum, restaurant and toilets. When I visited in the low season these were closed. Outside the main gate there is a notice in English and Norwegian whereby you can scan a QR code at various points inside the walls which help explain its history. I recommend doing this if not visiting as part of a tour which I did. It took about 40 minutes to look round and listen to the audio guide and watch short the videos given. You can also view the large cannons that were present at the site at the north-west corner viewpoint.
Whilst renovations were on going and much was closed, I was still able to walk on top of the grassy ramparts (the walls are incredibly thick and tall). There are no safety barriers on the top and the few signs on entry do remind you not to walk or play close to the edge. Children should be supervised. I would not recommend doing this in winter with snow and ice present as the ramparts are particularly exposed. The surrounding area now forms a large recreational area which makes it very pretty, particularly in the shades of autumn.
Be sure to wear appropriate footwear and clothing. It can be cold and very windy at the top.
