点评:Villa Gregoriana is without a doubt one of the must-see sights in Tivoli. Located just half a kilometre from the town's train station, this stunning park was created on the orders of Pope Gregory XIV in the early 19th century, which is why it bears his name. The park contains 74 different tree species, lovely trails, and the ruins of the Villa of the Roman Consul Manlius Vopiscus, a luxurious residence celebrated by the famous Roman poet Horace. One entrance of the villa is at the ruins of the Roman temples of the acropolis, which include the stunning Temple of Vesta.
I visited the park in December and it was still alive with the sounds of animals and not too busy, so I would recommend you take the opportunity to go in the off-peak season as you can easily take the train from Rome and set aside a day to visit Tivoli. You can spend a whole day in Tivoli if you decide to visit the park, Villa Adriana, which is a bit further away from the city centre, and Villa d'Este, all of which are simply beautiful sites.
