点评:On impulse I joined the SS Keewatin Premium tour while visiting the museum seeing that it had just opened for the season. Shout out to Brenna who was an excellent guide! Learning about life on board and seeing the beautiful fittings and fixtures of this heritage ship, the last Edwardian steam powered passenger liner still standing, and so nearly scrapped, was fascinating. The cabins have been dressed with clothing, artefacts and newspapers to represent each of the decades the ship was in service (from 1908 to 1965) and the staff and volunteers have done a brilliant job at sourcing, curating and presenting this information to bring the ship to life. The shorter tour for me would probably have been sufficient as it covers the areas in which I was most interested (cabins, main lounge and dining etc) but timing meant that it was the Premium or nothing and the extended tour did cover other interesting features such as the crews quarters and galley. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in liner travel - and a bonus if you are lucky enough to have Brenna as your guide. I only had time for a quick look at the remainder of the museum (included in your tour ticket) which seemed small but contained various interesting artefacts and detailed information including the machinery to empty the wet dock the liner is floating in.
