点评:I visited on only their second day of their season, at the very end of March, and I was completely blown away by the wealth of spring flowers on display. Though it’s not a large garden, i still spent an hour going round it once, before having excellent coffee and cake in the welcoming tearoom, and then making a second circuit, finding many plants that I’d missed the first time. So, although the admission price had seemed high (compared with a huge site like Inverewe), in the end I felt it was good value for money. I was made very welcome by all the staff (many of whom I assume are volunteers), and I was also very lucky that it was a superb, sunny, windless day. If you don’t know Perth well, make sure you approach the Garden by way of the sequence of riverside parks on the east side of the Tay—these were a delightful surprise. And it’s worth returning to the town centre by the footpath alongside the railway bridge, stopping off on Moncrieff island to admire the extensive allotments.
