点评:PROS
* The only exhibit of its kind in Israel- unique and special
* Truly world-class amazing location directly above the coral reefs and jutting into the Gulf of Eilat/Red Sea
* Interesting exhibits of all kinds of fish and turtles, especially gigantic ones
* Activities and demonstrations for all ages
* Very unique enclosed underwater observatory and also observation tower view on top, for seeing Israel, Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia
CONS
* The place is old and worn and tired-appearing
* Exhibits and performance areas are far from modern and not maintained well
* The price is astronomical despite at least a dozen plans and gimmicks for reduced prices
* Staff are clearly unenthusiastic to the point of appearing uninterested
"i VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... because as hard as it is to believe, Prince Place Junior had never been here. We had been there at least once thirty years ago.
The place is physically unimpressive and the staff appear bored and uninterested.
There is not adequate parking.
The cashiers are busy advising people of the discount bargain codes and games with credit cards and the like. The full admission price is 129 shekels, which is outlandish and ridiculous: nobody pays full price. People leave the cashier booth to go and seek reduction coupons.
The concession area of refreshments and souvenirs is dull and uninteresting and staffed by bored people.
The exhibits are often unstaffed and inadequately explained. One very major exception was the guy at the big window which included sharks: he was so friendly and so interested and interesting and helpful!! Please see my attached "helpful" 👍photos 📷 of him
The 3D/4D movie with the special eyeglasses of the leviathan is a worthless disaster- certainly not worth it at all, so I suggest to people to not waste time.
The tower out 60 meters from shore is interesting- we enjoyed climbing to the top and surveying the scenery and the four countries.
Underneath and underwater, the observatory is small and crowded and stuffy and tinged blue- it's certainly worth the descent down the winding steps and being there for 10-15 minutes.
No surprise here but still sad to say- the minimal staff personnel in the tower and especially the jewelry salesperson were all bored and uninterested to be there.
An example of the poor maintenance are my "helpful" 👍photos 📷 of the torn and frayed and dangerous carpeting on the narrow and dizzying dark spiral staircases to the underwater observatory.
WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
With a combination of reductions: yes, probably
WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN?
Only in order to escort grandchildren
ADVICE from IVTP
* Do not ever pay full price- get whatever some kind of coupon or reduction deal
* Expect staff to be mediocre and uninterested
* Skip the 3D/4D movie- save your time
* Be aware of the torn carpeting on the windy dark treacherous steps to the underwater observatory
