点评：Godolphin House and its breathtaking grounds were an absolute delight to visit! As soon as we drove up the long, winding driveway, we knew we were in for a treat. The house itself is a beautiful, atmospheric time capsule, and the volunteers were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. We learned so much about the Godolphin family's fascinating history, from their political influence to their love of horses.
The real star of the show for me, however, were the gardens. The ancient, gnarled trees in the medieval garden felt like something out of a fairytale, and the peaceful, tranquil atmosphere was simply perfect. We spent hours just wandering the grounds, exploring the Victorian walled garden and admiring the stunning views from Godolphin Hill. The walk to the top is well worth the effort for the panoramic vistas across the Cornish countryside and out to St Ives Bay.
This is a place where you can truly escape and immerse yourself in nature and history. It's a testament to the National Trust's incredible work in preserving these special places. We came away feeling refreshed, inspired, and with a deeper appreciation for this beautiful corner of Cornwall. Godolphin is a must-visit for anyone who loves history, gardens, or simply a peaceful day out. We'll definitely be back!
