点评：I visited the Boyana Church on a tour to the Rila Monastery from Sofia.
I had wanted to visit this church so I picked a tour that included it.
The tour guide collected payment at the start of the tour for those who wanted to visit the church and it was an afternoon visit after we had visited the Rila Monastery.
The church is very peaceful looking from the outside, but it's the frescoes inside the church that are the real wonder of this church.
Our tour guide was allowed to come in with us and he gave us some information, but it was fine to just take in the frescoes.
Only a certain amount of people are allowed in at a time and for a certain amount of time and there is strictly no photography allowed inside which I completely understand.
Sometimes it's nice to just look with your eyes rather than trying to get a picture.
If you are visiting independently I think you might want to check for tickets ahead of time.
My advice is to definitely visit this church combined with the Rila Monastery as you can make a great day trip out of it.
