点评:We started walking at the western of the Mall Road ,then across the Ridge and were picked up later at the bottom of the lifts.
Absolutely fascinating architecture. Some of the original building have been repurposed since they were built ,but so many echoes of what the town once was in it's heyday as the summer capital of the British Raj era.
The whole ambiance of the "hill stations" is different from the towns and cities on the plains, a mix up of modernism and archaic random signage and buildings
The air is wonderfully fresh maybe because SHIMLA IS A NON SMOKING TOWN!
We only had just the one full day in Shimla as a stopover as part of a group tour, but there is so much to explore, is so fascinating that one needs at least 3 days. We sadly did not stay in a hotel close enough to experience the evening/night /morning atmosphere.
