Amazing - 2162ft elevation over 3 mile incline
Nevada Falls Loop的点评
点评：Four of us did this hike. Mist trail was closed until after 3.30pm whilst they are doing repairs. We followed an All Trails hike with a 2000+ ft elevation over 3 miles.
The hike was so worth it. The first part is a tarmac path which is incredibly steep in places. After the bridge, the trail to Clarke point was more of a sandy mud track with lots of rocks and rock steps, watch your footing.
Clarke Point was very busy and seemed to be more of an end point for most people as you can see the waterfalls on the walk there. We carried on up to Nevada falls, not for the faint hearted and you do need to be fit. Take lots of water. Get to know the people who walk up at the same time as everyone was stopping lots of times to catch their breath and you pass each other all the time, a chat every now and again makes you realise you arent unfit, the trail is tough.
So worth it when you get there.
At this point our party of 4 split. The boys walked onto Vernal Falls and down the mist trail which had then opened, the girls walked back the way we came. The mist trail is the place where most deaths have occurred whilst walking. The steps apparently were not slippy as they can be earlier in the year, but there are over 800 steps, single track in places where you cannot pass and there are sheer drops. Check out photos before you do this as I would have frozen. Glad I did what I did.
Even though we split at Nevada Falls and took our time on the way back, we arrived back at the bus stop only 5 miniutes after the boys.
Views from the top were amazing, the hike was so worth it and we couldnt believe how steep the walk was up there when we were walking back. At 4,30 pm we saw less than a handful of people on the track presumably everyone was doing the Mist trail instead.
