A Vibrant and Historic Chinatown; Great for Street Snacks and a Scenic Harbor Walk

点评：Yokohama Chinatown is a beautifully vibrant district filled with ornate Chinese style gates, authentic decor, and bustling shops. It stands as one of the largest and oldest Chinatowns in Asia, making it a fantastic historical stop during a visit to Yokohama.
However, for travelers who have previously explored the massive Chinatowns in San Francisco or New York, the experience here will feel quite familiar, though on a noticeably smaller and more compact scale. It offers the classic setup of souvenir stores, sit down restaurants, and endless street food stalls. During our walk, we absolutely loved the frozen glazed grapes and strawberries (tanghulu)—the fruit itself tasted incredibly fresh and crunchy, perfectly complemented by the crunchy sugar glaze coating. We also picked up a bag of freshly roasted chestnuts, which made for a great snack. We did try one of their famous giant meat buns (nikuman); while the sheer size of it was undeniably massive, the overall flavor profile felt fairly average compared to the hype. It is also worth noting that because this is a heavily commercialized tourist hub, the prices for food and snacks across the board tend to run a bit pricier compared to other areas.
Pro Tip: Because the entrance of Chinatown is located just a short walk from the waterfront, you can easily combine this with a visit to Yamashita Park and the Yokohama Harbor area. Doing so creates one fantastic, continuous "power scenic walk" that lets you experience the best of Yokohama's modern coastal views and historic cultural streets in one go.
