Because of its massive 13-square-kilometer footprint, it is virtually impossible to explore the entire fort on foot. I highly recommend hiring a driver or a local auto-rickshaw to navigate the sprawling grounds. Engaging a licensed, government-approved guide is also essential. Without one, you risk missing the hidden architectural marvels—such as the Gaumukh Reservoir and the ancient temples—and the captivating stories that bring these ancient stones to life.
