点评:Easy to access by use of the metro system (Ozone) and well sign posted, we found a day, well 4hrs, at this museum to be a highlight of Nagoya. Staff are friendly and informative and the museum shows choice pieces from the Shogun period, with selections from what must be an enormous collection. If nothing else it is fun trying to work out why the tea bowls on display are considered to be so good when they look much like others one sees! Some of the pieces are extraordinary and they are so beautifully displayed. Seating is provided through the museum so you can take a welcome break if needed.
In fact at the time of our visit there was a marvellous initial display of activities from the Shogun lifestyle, then a rather less interesting section from the library, less interesting because I couldn’t read a word, then a further highlight room with further amazing pieces from the collection.
We loved it but I should say we love galleries and museums. If viewing cultural pieces is your thing you will love this, allow perhaps 3 hrs.
There is also a really well maintained and quite extensive garden that warrants a visit, a good wind down after the indoor intensity of the museum.
