Quite an impressive structure, but we preferred Kochi Castle
姬路城的点评
点评：My wife and I, and our two long-time friends, all of us senior citizens, visited the castle, which was our second castle in two days, Kochi being the other one, and although Himeji looks more impressive from the outside, I think I preferred the charm of Kochi. Himeji was far busier, with a lot more people around, and it felt so much more like sardines in a can when you were inside Himeji. It was much more of a struggle to get up and down the internal wooden stairs in Himeji, and you can’t get out onto the roof like Kochi, so a much more restricted view of the surroundings. It was a fairly long drive from and back to the cruise ship, and I probably would not have booked to visit Himeji Castle if I realised what the drive and the castle were going to be like, especially as we had visited Kochi the day before. If you are in the area, then it is worth the visit, but I wouldn’t make a special trip to it, even given that it’s been in a few films.
