An Excellent Second-Tier Automotive Museum

点评：The LeMay is a worthwhile stop for car enthusiasts, though it doesn't quite reach the top tier of automotive collections I've visited. The building itself is striking, and many vehicles are attractively displayed. However, the bulk of the exhibits reflect the founder’s personal preferences, leading to multiple examples of models that arguably warrant only one—and glaring absences of historically significant cars that evidently didn’t capture his interest.
Signage is excellent when present, but much of it relies on electronic screens, several of which were frustratingly out of order during my visit. Traffic flow through the museum is initially disorienting, and I found myself retracing aisles before getting my bearings. The ramps at either end of the building house compelling supplementary content, yet their layout is counterintuitive—visitors move right to left, while the wall text reads left to right. To follow the narrative coherently, you must walk to the far end and double back before continuing onward.
Vehicle arrangement feels inconsistent, too. A cohesive 1950s domestic trio—Ford, Chevy, Chrysler—can abruptly give way to a lone Model T, without apparent rhyme or reason.
Despite these quirks, there's enough substance here to merit a visit for car aficionados. It’s a solid second-tier museum—arguably one of the best in that bracket—but not quite in the league of the most thoughtfully curated collections.
