Hybrid Japanese and Western Modern Art Museum
东京国立近代美术馆的点评
点评：We enjoyed this modern art museum for its mixture of Japanese and Western modern art. Each room explored a theme and most of the curated art inside had detailed explanations helping tie things together if one did not use the audio guide option. Mediums include paintings, photographs, sculptures, transformed objects and a sprinkling of Japanese cultural heritage works.
We started on the 4th floor and followed the recommended visiting path and ended on the 2nd floor. Signage was in both Japanese and English with the room themes also explained in Korean and Chinese.
Room with a view was on the 4th floor and was a separate area with large window views looking over to the Imperial Palace and park. On the 2nd floor was an outdoor viewing patio (led to the onsite restaurant) with a similar but unobstructed view. Make sure to keep your ticket as staff will rescan the QR code upon reentering the museum.
Overall museum admission was just 500 yen for the permanent exhibitions and was a bargain to see in my opinion.
