点评:While the area is undoubtedly picturesque and ideal for photography, I had an unfortunate experience that I feel compelled to share.
While walking through one of the lanes, my friends and I stopped near a yellow house to take a few photos — something many tourists do in this area. Suddenly, a man (presumably the owner, old bald man, wears specs above his head and lives in the yellow quarter attached below) came out and began shouting aggressively, demanding we delete the photos. I was initially willing to cooperate, but his rude and hostile approach made the situation unnecessarily tense. When I calmly asked what proof he had that we took his house’s picture, he shockingly threw water on me.
This kind of behaviour is unacceptable, especially in a place that attracts so many visitors and photographers. While I completely understand and respect the need for privacy, basic courtesy and communication go a long way.
If you’re visiting Fontainhas, do enjoy the beauty and culture — but be mindful that some residents may not appreciate photography near their homes. And sadly, not everyone chooses to express that politely.
