点评:While in Hyderabad, I visited the iconic Charminar — a 16th-century monument built by the Sultan Muhammad Shah to commemorate the end of a deadly plague. Located in the heart of the Old City, getting there is an experience in itself. The roads grow narrow, the buzz intensifies, and eventually, you step into a district where vehicles are restricted near the monument — a welcome relief.
We wandered through the surrounding square, vibrant bazaar and side streets. It’s a place that invites you to pause and imagine its regal past. Unfortunately, the site lacks proper tourism infrastructure and upkeep, which is a missed opportunity given its cultural importance.
That said, if you have an appreciation for history and architecture, Charminar is absolutely worth a visit. But don’t expect a polished, luxury experience. Expect an authentic day in the life of type of one.
