点评:This was a wonderful surprise and it was a rainy day . You can take the train up the mountain from Hakone and follow the signs from train station about two blocks . Allow at least 2 hours or more as there is quite a lot to see . Most of the museum is outside but it is amazing . The lay out of each Art piece must be viewed from all angles because you see it often at a different viewpoint depending on where you are standing. I have been all over the world to Art Museums but this one is now number # 2 on my list . The Picasso building is a simple presentation but very well done with his timeline on the second floor. I was especially taken with the display of ceramic Picasso pieces since I am a ceramic potter myself . Make sure to take in the ladies in the garden just prior to approaching the building . Stop for tea/ coffee snack and dip your feet in the mineral bath just past Picasso. The extra time to do this is so worth it . I treasure what I purchased at the art museum store on the way out because I might not ever be back to Japan to do it again . This is the hidden Gem of Hakone. Must visit even if not a Art lover . Very kid friendly with a section or two just for children . Food restaurants available near art museum store if you get hungry . Restaurants in town may have limited hours of operation.
