点评:This is a historical museum with buildings moved to this site from all over Shikoku. There is quite a range of ages, from quite old to relatively recent (early 1900s). There is also a range of architectural styles, from small humble dwellings to quite elaborate homes. It was very interesting. The grounds are also nicely landscaped. One reviewer mentioned downloading the audio guide - highly recommended, as there is not much English-language signage. There were also video presentations available in some of the buildings, with (usually) an English-language option available, or else English subtitles.
Note that this site has quite a bit of elevation gain if you want to cover the entire site. The main buildings are close to the entrance area, however. Also note that this place is closed on Tuesdays, not Mondays as is normal for museums in Japan.
The tourist information place in Takamatsu recommended a pass which covered the Kotoden train line, the tram line, and entrance to the village, for about 2000 yen. That was a useful recommendation. There is an occasional bus from the Kotoden-Yashima station to the entrance to the Shikoku Mura Village, but it was just as easy to walk the 500 m distance from the station to the entrance.
