Schlitz Audubon Nature Center的点评
点评：I took my 12-year-old grandson here. We had a great time. The staff was very helpful and gave us a brief tour of the grounds on a raised relief map in the visitors’ center. We had a trail map, but the trails were very clearly marked so we didn’t need to refer to it very often.
The view of Lake Michigan from the top of the 60-ft. tower was amazing. We also took the Lake Michigan trail, which took us down a very steep incline (paved) path to the lake. It was so beautiful being on a deserted beach, wind blowing, hearing the waves crashing on the shore, bring up hundreds and hundreds of beautiful rocks: My grandson wanted to stay forever.
We ended our visit by taking another trail around the pond where we saw geese. Being that it’s so early in spring, we didn’t see any nesting birds, though we did spot and hear cardinals, robins, and chickadees; also saw a pair of mallards. If you like nature and walking, it’s definitely worth going and is a wonderful way to spend a few hours.
