We are into country sports and love the place. If you are not into shooting and fishing do not come.

点评：This is our 3rd visit and yes we shoot and Fish. People need to know that between 9am and currently 5pm (4 in earlier months) you will hear gun fire as they have a clay pigeon shooting ground is within the site. If you want peace and quiet it might not suit you. We do shoot so it’s not an issue. We have stayed in the whistler which was superb. The lakeside plus no 35 which was compact but a fantastic view. We are currently in the Pond view (11) which is fantastic. Two good bedrooms with on suite. Large lounge/kitchen overlooking the lakes.
We have stayed in the camper van hard standing area which is good.
People whinge about the facilities being in the main carpark which is a two min walk from the van area. People still use torches and the area has lighting on the path, so what’s the issue.
Food is decent and the club house has a bar with a good selection of drinks and snacks.
The staff on reception are superb and go out of the way to help. ( thanks John for putting up with my Amazon deliveries) . The lads in the gun room are superb (thanks Ian) and very knowledgeable.
If you are not into outdoor sports this may not be the place for you. You can read about Westlands before you visit so do not knock the place expecting it to be something different to what it’s advertised as.
We will be back again soon.
