Pretty but a bit overhyped...
兼六园的点评
点评：It is said that this is top 3 garden in the entire of Japan, or so we were told multiple times but I struggle to find this to be the case as during our 12 day trip between Tokyo->Kanazawa->Takayama->Kyoto we had see plenty of beautiful places, ones that I recognized and found much prettier than this garden.
However, to be fair - I think it's all about the time of the year, some of these places lose their charm or enhance their appearance based on the state of their vegetation - flowers... snow... etc.
The spot where people were lining up on a little bridge just to get a picture with the background was definitely the biggest overhyped moment I have witnessed in person during this trip, especially after all the internet hype on youtube and instagram about it... I just didn't see it...
It's more of a romantic peaceful stroll in the greenery type of place for me than "a must see" cultural spot - definitely one the places I would have skipped if I had a chance to redo the trip/itinerary
