点评:The Museum goes through the interesting parts of Bahrain's history from the stone age to near modern times. There is lots from the Dilmun era, when it was referred to by the Greeks as Tylos and information about the pearling era. One of the most interesting exhibits was about the burial mounds which can be found outside of Bahrain.
We visited some other archeological sites in Bahrain including Barbar Temple and Bahrain Fort and there were artifacts from these sites including the copper bull head from Barbar Temple which seems to be featured on lots of signs throughout Manama that we noticed. They have information about most of Bahrain's major sites as well. Rooms 2-5 were the most interesting for us but we also liked the large floor map of Bahrain that extends throughout most of the hall from the ticket counter to the cafe.
The cost to enter is about 1 BHD and you can easily spend 1-2 hours here. Presently there is a temporary exhibition on Japanese manufacturing/art and a couple of art galleries for local artists. There is free parking and there are quite a few sculptures outside too and the Bahrain National Theatre can be seen nearby as well. The museum has a gift shop and a nice looking cafe too.
