British times Kingsway name turned as Rajpath after Independence and same is changed again as Kartavya path in 2022

点评：This 3km stretch road was earlier constructed by British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. During British tenure it was known as Kingsway. It was named in the honor of George V. After Independence in 1947, the name of Kingsway was changed to Rajpath. On 8th Sep-2022 prime minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Kartavya path and then onwards Rajpath is officially called as Kartavya path.

1. This is the place where the annual Republic Day parade takes place every year on 26th January.
2. This road is also used for the funeral processions of key political leaders of India.
