点评：Our visit was arranged through our birding tour guide, and it was an amazing experience. We first stopped to see the tamarins in a forest, guided by one of the rangers with a telemetry device. She tracked them down relatively quickly, and we were enchanted to spend time with the troupe. As noted, we wore masks and presented vaccine certificates. The tamarins come quite close.
We then drove to the association headquarters and walked one of the trail with one of the rangers. We did see a couple of the tamarins there, but we were astounded at the variety of the birds, including four different types of manakins, one fairly rare. The rangers were phenomenal, and this is one of the best ways I can imagine to support conservation of these beautiful animals. It’s well worth doing if you have the time and means to get there.
